We are excited to release our 2022 Rosa Lee Petit Verdot! After the great success of last year’s Rosa Lee Petit Verdot, we decided to maintain our certified organic trio of Napa Valley grapes: 76% Petit Verdot, 12% Malbec, and 12% Zinfandel.

The dramatic ripening season of 2022, punctuated with extreme heat spikes, led our three-varietal blend down a unique path with the Zinfandel and Malbec reaching peak maturity in mid-September and the Petit Verdot hanging on the vine for a full month longer, before being harvested on October 12. We aged these bold and distinct wines separately in barrel prior to blending in the fall, letting them marry for an additional 5 months then bottled in December 2023.

Deep ruby in color, complex and continually evolving aromas of blackberry, pomegranate, and chocolate-covered cranberry are complemented by subtle caramel, white pepper, and eucalyptus. Youthful, quenching acidity and silky tannins are balanced by flavors of ripe cherry, candied plum, and roasted mocha. Only 420 cases were produced.
