Tasting Notes
ZD recommends using an ah-so wine opener on library wines. Be sure to add one to your cart if you don't already own one!
This 2010 ZD Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is bursting with complexity. Intense aromas of cassis, plum, ripe blackberries and subtle hints of clove, lavender and toasty vanilla support a solid core of ripe fruit on the palate. The balance is structured but elegant, with soft, velvety tannins and a perfect acid/tannin balance that will ensure its long term ageability.
The grapes are from several of our premium, small, intensely farmed and low-yielding Napa Valley vineyards including ZD’s own organically farmed Rutherford Estate. After almost a year in barrel as individual lots, the wines were blended and returned to barrel for an additional two years of “resting” in American oak barrels. This wine is a true testament to ZD’s belief in the art of blending.
