Ideal Harvest Yields High Hopes
Autumn’s fire slowly burns the edges of the leaves dangling from the rows of grapevines in our vineyards, and day by day the dead leaves fall and melt into the soil; their cycle of life complete. The ideal growing conditions of Napa Valley and Carneros have again provided ZD with Mother Nature’s alchemy and another wonderful year is captured in liquid form.

Employee profile: Sommer Miller

Her life was once filled with criminals; shady characters of all sorts that exhibited no regard for the law or decent behavior. Yes, she involved herself with many undesirables, but those days are long gone, and today Sommer works in the ZD accounting department as Accounting Assistant, where she helps keep track of debits and credits, bills and invoices, and no longer does she exist in a world of crime. You see, before Sommer came to work for ZD in 2008, she worked with a Napa private detective agency, doing everything from filing court documents, interviewing crime victims to running background checks on criminals.

The shorter days and the chill in the evening air signals that summer has come to a close and that the Holidays are right around the corner. We love the Holiday Season because it is a time of year when our wines transcend everyday life and become part of so many special memories. For us, wine is more than a beverage, it is a catalyst that connects people, a conversation piece that stimulates banter, and an important component that not only can bring a meal together but people as well.
